About Legacy Woodworks
Our president, Mark Johnston, has worked in the Knoxville construction industry for 25 years. He started humbly, performing menial tasks for one of Knoxville’s elite custom builders. His desire to learn, natural problem solving skills, and increased management proficiency led him to start his
own business as a general contractor. While the timing of the start of that business collided with the ’08 recession, Mark did not waiver in his love of construction. Instead, he adapted and took an opportunity to help run an established field millwork business. Mark used the expertise he learned as a contractor and project manager to help establish a business committed not only to excellence, but also to serving the needs of high end contractors well.
The combination of the quality of work, superior communication, and a drive to serve builders and their customers well caused a push from the community for more of Legacy Woodworks. Through the encouragement of some of Knoxville’s elite builders, Mark launched the custom cabinet division in 2017.
The business quickly became more than a division, so Mark adapted again, closing the field subcontracting part of the business and focusing solely on custom cabinets. He has poured into employees, builders, the custom process, and customer satisfaction in ways that has earned Legacy Woodworks a place among Knoxville’s best custom cabinet companies.
