Contact us through our contact form, and we’ll help you move on to the real “first step” below.
Schedule a meeting with Mark, our President and Lead Designer.
Cast a Vision in the existing space of what you would like to see. Inspiration photos, sketches, and your words will help guide us into the design phase.
Build Rapport with our team. Chemistry matters. Construction is far too often painful. We believe great communication throughout can change that.
Discuss the possibility of other trades needing to be involved in the process. Countertops, appliances, plumbing, flooring, electrical, and others are often a critical part of creating your new kitchen. We will partner with you in that process to determine the best way to meet the specific needs of your project.
Set Expectations for timeframes and costs. We want to start out with a level of transparency here that may be uncomfortable, as our goal is to communicate honestly and forthrightly. Most projects can be installed 9-12 weeks after signing a contract. However, the design process detailed below that occurs prior to the contract usually takes several weeks as well. This means that the total timeframe from your initial meeting to install day is more like 11-16 weeks.
Checklists will be provided to you as a tool to walk you through the process. Decisions can be overwhelming. Our goal is to walk with you through the process in a way that eases unnecessary anxieties.

Style of cabinetry needs to be determined, as well as the selection of doors and finishes.
Measurements of the existing space are critical, as your new cabinetry will be custom designed and built to fit exact specifications.
Floor Plans and Elevations will be created by our Draftsman to help you see the space.
Editing the plans is a normal part of the process. Rarely do we get everything you want detailed in the first draft! We will email you the initial renderings and request feedback to ensure we create what you envisioned.
-
Final Drawings will be presented at a scheduled meeting in your home. You will receive a set of drawings to keep.
Samples of the selected doors, drawer fronts, face frames, and colors will be presented for you to see in the space prior to signing off on them.
Final Pricing and a typical sales contract will be presented. This is the first time you will put money into your project. The receipt of signatures and a 50% deposit is required to move forward.

Ordering all the necessary parts and pieces (usually those items that make a kitchen’s functionality shine) begins immediately.
Specialty woods, profiled mouldings, glass, and hardware are also ordered immediately and are included in the timeframes communicated.
Woodworkers and Cabinet Builders begin to transform raw materials like maple, alder, oak, and domestic plywoods into the boxes, face frames, and mouldings detailed in your custom plans.
Site Visits are not just for us in your home! As your project is being fabricated, we will reach out to invite you into our space, both to see the operation in action and to meet the builders creating your project.

Organizing all the parts of a renovation is no small task. Prior to finalizing the installation date of your cabinetry, we will schedule a time to meet with you to discuss any other moving parts and their associated impacts.
Preparing to be without a kitchen is important. But minimizing the number of days without one happens now, not later. Clear communication with every party in the process before your existing cabinetry is removed will reveal any unnecessary gaps.
Checklists that we provided in our first meeting will be reviewed to ensure that all the products are on hand and all the services are scheduled.
Install Date will be determined based on the above conversations. At this time, we will explain again what the install process looks like and what you can expect from our team. We will also ensure that you have direct access to our Production Manager who can answer any questions you have along the way. At this point, your kitchen is built and ready to be delivered, and per the contract we signed, a 25% draw is expected.

Protection on floors and walls will be put into place in any area affected by parts of the renovation process prior to any work beginning. We will take great care of hallways, doorways, floors, etc. and work diligently to prevent you from feeling anxiety about possible damage.
Removal and Haul Off of the existing cabinetry, countertops, and appliances as required is the first big action item on site. Depending on the scope of your project, the days after the removal of the existing kitchen may include things like electrical, plumbing, flooring, and sheetrock.
Cabinetry will be installed once other trades are complete. This process usually takes 2-5 days depending on the project’s complexity. We will invite you to take a good look at your new cabinets in place before we cover them with protection to avoid any damage during the next steps explained below.
Countertops are measured immediately following the cabinet installation. They cannot be produced until the cabinets are installed, as they must be very precise. The timeframes for installation of the countertops can vary by manufacturer but are typically 2-3 weeks (this means 2-3 after cabinet installation).
Down Time during this stage can often be frustrating, as every day you are without a kitchen can be difficult, especially when you don’t see any activity. Our experience has taught us that the more clearly we communicate the process and update you throughout it, the less you will feel frustrated.

Countertop Installation indicates the home stretch!
Appliances are installed as soon as possible after countertops, as well as sinks and other plumbing items, are completed. Electrical work, tile work (backsplash), and paint may be a part of this stage as well, based on the scope of your project.
Protection is removed from the cabinets, and any remaining doors, drawer fronts, appliance panels, and trim are installed.
Hardware that you selected and provided is installed on doors and drawers. It is at this point that we put the final touches on the cabinetry including any specialty inserts.
Final Walk-Through with Mark, our president, will be scheduled during the finishing process. He will meet with you to ensure your complete satisfaction, walk you through our warranty packet, and receive the final 25% balance.
We are a local custom cabinet company. We are not a box store that brings your cabinets in from an outside source. Our craftsmen build your cabinets from scratch in our Powell shop with only domestic woods. Our designers, cabinet builders, installers, etc. are not freelance sub-contractors — they are employees. Top to bottom we are committed to a completely custom and completely local process.
If all of that sounds great to you, please read through our (very detailed) process below!
Deciding if we’re the right company for you is the first step.
